Yogi Adityanath Uttar Pradesh's new Chief Minister

For the first time, it is clear that the BJP is not being surreptitious about its ideological agenda. If it is branded as a hard core Hindutva party, so be it. No apologies required. It's confident that it can accommodate it with its development agenda without a conflict. This could have come from the renewed confidence from the mandate in the state where it mixed Hindu polarisation and issues of development with ease. The results told it that it can take along both. This could be the party's template for all future elections in states across the country.

I will follow Modi's mantra 'sabka saath, sabka vikas', said Yogi Adityanath after being chosen by the party to be chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. Why aren't many cheering the statement? Well, his track record as a Hindutva firebrand could be a bit unsettling for even those who have weakness for the Hindutva ideology. It is natural for them to be wary of someone who has no qualms about being unabashedly combative when it comes to religion. For those not in the know, he suggested that those who don't practice yoga should leave Hindustan. And those averse to doing suryanamaskar should jump into the sea. Of course, his hard views on the Muslim community are well-known. So when someone like him talks of sabka saath, sabka vikas it has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Assembly Election 2017 Live:Exit Polls predict BJP gain over Alliance in UP

After a high-octane campaigning for over two months, results for the five poll-bound states —Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand and Manipur — will be announced on 11 March. But before the counting of votes begins and the results are out, poll pundits get on to number crunching to predict different scenarios.

In India's largest and most populous state, the respondents seem evenly divided over their view on the Akhilesh Yadav government. While 49 percent of them are satisfied with the Samajwadi Party's rule, another 44 percent are unsatisfied.

On the question of the most popular choice for the post of chief minister,  the battle in the hill state Uttarakhand seems evenly split between former chief minister BC Khanduri and the incumbent Harish Rawat. Nevertheless, despite being a popular choice for the post of chief minister, respondents are unhappy with his government's performance. Around 56 percent of them answered in negative when asked to rate the government.

Fifty-three percent of the total respondents in Goa are reported to have expressed satisfaction with government's performance while only 44 percent of the respondents are unhappy with the saffron party's regime.

In Punjab, around 54 percent of the respondents are unhappy with the SAD-BJP government's performance.

UP Election 2017 Live: PM Modi's Massive Road Show in Varanasi

From Saturday large number of BJP supporters descended on the streets of Varanasi as the PM Narendra Modi hold a massive road show in the city. This is the largest road show a PM has held in any other city concerning the safety issues. PM Modi also offered his prayers at Kashi temple.

While the BJP hopes the PM 's road show will give a positive result , the Samajwadi Party Chief and UP CM thinks different, told it is only showing of strength and it will definitely fail.

Thousands of supporters thronged the route along which PM Modi went. Carrying BJP flags and shouting 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Modi', they waved at Modi, who acknowledged their greetings and waved back at them.

Political analysts feel PM Modi's aggressive campaign may help the BJP in Varanasi, where the party faces stiff challenge from the SP-Congress combine.

But CM Akhilesh Yadav's statement was "Ek roadshow kiya, wo fail ho gaya.. Ek aur karne ja rahe hain, wo bhi fail hoga, phir ek aur karenge... Ab roadshow karte karte kahin aur nikal jayenge.. ,"

http://www.yupptv.com/election-results-2017.html

Prime Minister Narendra Modi last day gave an energetic speech on the Maharajganj rally. He took a dig at Rahul Gandhi on his Manipur speech where the later purposed factory ideas.

Modi said "Friends, I just want to crosscheck my gyan...what is there inside a coconut, is it water or juice?" With people wondering, Modi continued "Nariyal ka juice kabhi suna hai aapne? There is one intelligent leader who has proposed to open a coconut juice factory in Manipur," and burst into laughter.

"Ya toh hum anpad aur anaari hain, ya voh bahut gyaani hain ," said Modi in an indirect reference to Rahul Gandhi. "Kaun bachayega inse aapko?" he added.

It is to be mentioned that Rahul, while addressing a rally in the poll-bound Manipur on Tuesday had proposed to bring up a food processing unit of coconut.

"We want that when people drink coconut juice in London with a marking of 'Made in Manipur', they should be surprised and search for Manipur," said Rahul.

"Congress ke paas aise mahan log hain, jinko yeh bhi nahi pata ki nariyal Kerala me hota hai ," Modi said while completing his jibe.
